Hmong Flag
The Official Hmong Flag
The Hmong Flag represents a powerful emblem of unity among Hmong diaspora communities, particularly in countries such as the United States, France, Australia, Laos, Thailand, China, and Vietnam. While it does not represent a sovereign nation, the flag is internationally recognized by Hmong clans and organizations as a unifying symbol of shared heritage, historical struggles, and collective aspirations for the future.
Design Description
Blue Field: Represents peace, harmony, and the enduring spirit of the Hmong people across the globe. It also symbolizes the vast sky that has watched over generations of Hmong as they journeyed across borders and history.White Circle: Symbolizes unity and the spiritual core of Hmong identity. Visually reminiscent of a cloud, soft, unbound, and ever present, it hovers above both the ancestral homeland and the global diaspora, a quiet emblem of continuity and belonging.Diamond and Star Motif: Drawn from traditional Hmong textile patterns, this central shape is both geometric and spiritual. It symbolizes cultural richness, spiritual guidance, direction, and the enduring strength of a people without a nation-state.Together, these elements make the Hmong International Flag not only a cultural symbol but also a spiritual one honoring the past, representing the present, and guiding the Hmong future across the world.
